Bomber shared by maniac at the 22nd RVA Gathering. Hazy amber, thin fizzy off-white head, decent retention. Aroma of strong malts, caramel and toffee, piney citrus hops, mild oak. The taste is bitter citrus, tropical hops, pale malt, caramel, mild oak. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness

sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - The oak dominates the aroma of this hazy orange brew. The flavor is also heavy on the oak. Bitterness is high though not especially high for the style. I don’t know if I’ve ever said the wood is overdone in a beer, but it might be here. It’s still good. I just think it could be great with a little more hops character and less wood.

Tap at Bank Street location. White grape, alcohol, and light soapy aroma. Amber with a small off-white head. Light woody vanilla, soapy flavor. I would never have guessed I was drinking a DIPA, as I only got an extremely subtle herbal hops in the finish.
