No other beer shows off what malts can do in a beer better than porter. Certified Organic Porter uses a complex blend of five malts that compliment and highlight one another in a harmonious mixture. Only one addition of imported Pacific Gem hops is used to provide a balancing bitterness without introducing any other hop character. While decidedly in the robust porter category, Certified Organic Porter has none of the harsh character people often associate with dark ales. Instead, what one finds is a rich, smooth beer with suggestions of chocolate and just a hint of coffee. So smooth and malty, this porter will convert even the non-dark beer drinker.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, coffee, touch of chocolate and dark fruits, slight vanilla, some liquorice in the finish. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, hint of creamy coffee. Nice and mild Porter with some good coffee flavours.

Draught at Gusto Pinsa Romana, no head, very dark brown color, dark bread and chocolate aroma, strong chocolate flavor with ashy notes that become stronger in time. Simple but nice.

Black beer with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earthy hops, light coffee, some lightly sweet malt. Comes across as a very well-crafted, straight forward Porter. Quite enjoyable.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark brown amber, mocha bubbles. Nose sweet sugary soy sauce, mocha bubbles, caramel. Taste is powdery, sugary soy sauce, caramel, burned sugar, oily herbs, powdery chocolate, faint roast. Oily body. Just about okay, a bit bland, neither exciting or very expressive.
