Titus was a wonderful, bold silverback gorilla who led with his heart. The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund studies and protects these magnificent animals on the Virunga volcano mountain range in Rwanda. Maine Beer Company proudly supports their efforts.

Bottled. Dark brown to black pour with tannish head. Roasty aroma. Roasted malt taste and bitter chocolate. Pretty good.

Draught @ George Keeley (Feb 2023). Opaque dark brown with large foamy tan head, roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter caramel/roasted malt taste with dark fruits, thin body, long finish. Great porter.

Good porter. Standard appearance, soft, smooth palate with appropriate bitterness and roasted malt flavors giving some coffee and chocolate notes. On the sweet side

Pours a dark, coffee-black with mid-sized head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is chocolate, burnt toast, roasted grain. Flavor largely follows. Smooth mouthfeel.

Sample at Bob’s Bar during the 18th Annual Extravaganza!!! on 02/29/2020. Black pour with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lace. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, espresso and a bit of anise. The finish is burnt malt and coffee. Pretty good all around.

100th Maine rating! Pours a near black from a bottle. Aroma of baking chocolate, toasted brown bread. Similar flavor, rather sweet and thin. Good beer.

Bottle shared. Pours black with a small offwhite head. Aromas of dark chocolatey malts, roasty notes, coffee, oat. Taste is malty, lightly bitter, roasty, coffee.
