Pure joy. Knee-buckling levels of goodness. Infinite depths of dark chocolate, molasses, black cherry, and mocha, with a touch of roast and date mixed with espresso and a healthy bitterness on the finish. Creamy, silky texture is to die for. The only pure porter I've ever come across that competes with Founders Porter. Holy shit, Maine Brewing. What can't you do?

16 ounce bottle. Opaque dark brown color. Thick, creamy tan head, about a quarter inch high. Roasted malt nose hints of bittersweet chocolate. Rich roasted malt flavor. Very bitter hops as well. Extremely bold flavors throughout. Thick, oily and chewy. Resiny hop finish. Bodacious and flamboyant.

Bottle. Truly great, well balanced beer. Lots of roastiness playing along with some caramelly biscuity maltiness and balancing hoppy bitterness. All elements are in unique harmony. Fruity, cherries, prunes. Well attenuated, easy drinking. Great.
