Port City Oktoberfest is a traditional Märzen style lager, brewed with all German malts and hops. This beer is amber in color, with malty, gently sweet flavors of crusty bread, leading to a clean dry finish with a touch of noble hops. From fresh growler poured 08/26/2011. Poured aggressively (callously) for the first glass, then very carefully the second time. Both had huge heads of foamy slightly off-white heads, medium copper color. Aroma was sweet malts, aroma a bit reminiscent of something that kind of reminds me of very very very light nutmeg or cinnamon. Flavor is light sweet malts. It is a bit sweet for me, but it’s not too malt heavy. Overall, it is a good attempt by the brewery for their first Oktoberfest beer.
