Enticing, complex blend of blueberries, black cherries and black currants balanced with basic elements of mead; honey, water and yeast. Our Flagship mead, Desire is a must with cheeses, Italian dishes, rich saucy meat dishes, or with Belgian chocolates.

Cloudy purple is an unusual and not necessarily appetizing appearance - you don’t see too many murky meads. The aroma is alcohol first, with some sticky honey notes, and then some light berryish fruits. Soft, fruity character with - I agree with Flurries here - a light balsamic note. A touch of alcohol late rounds things out. Decent, but rather unrefined.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you Clownoisseur. Pours very deep ruby red leaving some subtle legs on the glass. Smell is fruity and hammy with honey, currant, blackberries, cherries, blueberries, pollen, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, slightly sour and fruity. Mouthfeel is round, oily, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and sour with honey, currants, cherries, blueberries, moist soil, lemon peal and hints of alcohol. Nice fruity mead which reminds me of a more simplistic Schramm’s HoD or Sahtipaja MeadMe. The 16% abv are nowhere to be seen.

500 ml bottle picked up months ago at my local Market Basket. Purple lightly hazy color. Aroma is a blend of mixed berries that reminds me most of blackberry.
. The mouthfeel has a berry sweetness with a mixture of cherry, blackberry and blueberry. The berries run together as I sip. The ABV is covered with the honey hardly noticeable but provides a slight warming after a few ounces. The berries dominate this honey wine. Real easy to sip, enjoyable.

Corked bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle
Measured Final Gravity: 1040
Dark brown/red color. Deep aroma of black currants, flowery, perfumy. Quite sweet, but the acidity and alcohol balance it; nice currants and berries flavor, with pleasant ending astringency. This one brings me back to some good German mead.
Excellent.

Bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a dark purple-ish red with no head. Nose brings out loads of dark berries, with medium honey sweetness and even a touch of pith from the berries. Flavour is lovely and very complex, with loads of blueberries above all along with the other berries, medium sweetness, and just a touch of honey. Complex, elegant, and perfectly balanced. Wonderful stuff.

Older bottle from the basement, I believe from 2010. Reddish amber color with a smattering of bubbles on the top. Rich sweet honey and dark fruit notes on the nose with a hint of caramel, alcohol, and light sherry notes. The flavor is fruity honey with a hint of apple and again light sherry. I think its better fresh, I’m a big fan of this mead, but its interesting how the flavors have evolved over the last few years.
