grain bill: 2 Row, Wheat, Chocolate Malt, Crystal, Rolled Oats & Black Patent Malt
hops: Tettnanger and Willamette, cold steeped espresso added during secondary fermentation
flavor profile: Huge roasted malt and coffee nose, lots of chocolate and roasted malt flavors up front, finishes smooth with strong coffee flavors and slight hints of alcohol. Lingering chocolate and coffee flavors, with smooth malt sweetness.
food pairing: This beer can be paired with many different foods; best with big flavors like game, salmon, roasts and BBQ. Also works very well paired with desserts like crème brulee, gelato, and chocolate cake.
With cocoa added.

4 oz cask pour at ChurchKey. Black with not really any head. Aromas of roast, coffee, booze, dark chocolate. Tastes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, booze, a bit of dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Like this more than the base version, maybe the cocoa nibs help mask the alcohol.

Some roast and a touch of dark chocolate, though the cacao influence isn’t huge here. Pours black with OK head and lacing on cask. Light bitter finish with some sweetness. Cask at Churchkey.

On cask at Churchkey. Poured a pitch black color with a small brown head. Aroma was roasted, toasted chocolate malts, with some bittersweet chocolate notes. Flavor was a robust one with plenty of cocoa notes, almost a creamy texture to this one. Alcohol is well hidden in this particular brew.

Draft at Meridian Pint. Dark maroon color, scant edge head. Aroma of Hershey bar dipped in Starbucks. Taste is smooth, rich dark bittersweet cocoa and latte macchiato. Very nice.
