We named this beer as a Halloween seasonal brew, but its refreshing taste makes it a year round staple. Zombie is made according to the Belgian Witbier tradition of using unmalted wheat to create the light body and white sheen. Additions of coriander and orange peel give Zombie a fruity and spicy character, while the hops are subtle and lightly detected. Don’t be scared to crush some Zombies!

12 oz. can. Pours light, hazy yellow, with a small, off-white head. Distinct aroma of bitter orange peels, cloves, bready yeast, and some noble hops. Sweet, with a mild bitterness through the finish. Light to medium body, sticky, and a little syrupy. Overall, this is a nice witbier; the aroma is a little strong, and the flavor is a little bitter. Still, a nice, drinkable beer.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clearish yellow with a creamy, white head. The nose is all wheat, simple yeast and cardamon. Light sweet flavor with straight-ahead wheat bread, a bit of wort. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet to finish with light bitter hay, some doughy wheat bread. OK stuff.

Can from Bruisin Ales (4.7% ABV). Pours hazy gold with a creamy/foamy white head. The aroma is zest, and seems more lemon than orange. ? Near medium body. The flavor is zest (still seems lemon) with wheat and a touch of sage. The wheat is actually flavorful. This is way better than most American wits I’ve tried. I think it’s underrated.
