Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is mostly hops, with some fruitiness. This ale doesn’t go very hard for a Belgian yeast character. It is mostly a lightly hopped ale that can’t really fit into other styles. Fruitiness is abundant, but nor particularly memorable. In any case, this was still good and my criticisms shouldn’t take away from the fact that this was a very drinkable and enjoyable brew.

Orginial rating 4/18/09, score 7/4/7/4/14. Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear golden amber color with a thin head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is bready and yeasty with notes of bubblegum, spice and a moderate bitter hop note. Taste is hop forward... spicy and fruity with notes of peach. That is followed by a yeasty bread note. Fruity throughout. Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation.
