Even if you aren’t as tough as Bad Elmer, you can still drink with him. This porter is a medium-bodied beer, brewed with lots of roasted malt, giving it flavors of coffee, liquorice, and chocolate. It’s rich, creamy, and characteristically dark yet extremely smooth. The initial light sweetness is followed by a clean, dry, roasty finish.

Pour is a black with a large mocha head. Aroma is a decent mix of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is some char malt with a bit of sweet chocolate. Decent porter. A little thin but lots of chocolate and char malt coming out.

12 oz. bottle in trade with Fletche00. Pours very dark brown, with light ruby notes. Good coffee notes, some sour cherries, molasses, and nutmeg. The flavor is sweet up front, with some significant sour and metallic notes through the finish. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and pretty astringent. Overall, this is a mediocre porter, with weak aroma, and a relatively unpleasant flavor. Not bad, but not very good.

12oz bottle poured inti a shaker. Pours black with a half fingeo of khaki head. Aroma of cocoa and slight coffee with a hint of vanilla. Taste is light bitter. Coffee and cocoa with some light herbal hops. Mwdium bodied with a really thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Enjoyable but not too special.
