This rich, Northwest-style Pale Ale is a rare feat of balance: unfiltered, dry-hopped to 40 IBUs, and deliciously seasonable. Groove on this two-time Great American Beer Festival® Gold Medal winner (2001 and 2002 Bitter Category). It really smooths out the bumps.

Poured on tap @ Squatter’s Brewpub in SLC. It has a deep gold to copper body with lasting white head. A moderate aroma carries citrus hops, orange juice and sweet maltiness. The taste starts crisp and refreshing with citrus hoppiness mixing with a moderate backbone of sweet malts. The hops build in both strength and bitterness as the taste moves to the finish. It never becomes IPA hoppy but it is assertive for the style. Yum.

Draft at the Brewpub, 10/5/07; Nose of citrus hops and grain; amber with a medium, yellow, glass-lacing yellowih head that thickly laces the glass; flavor is caramel and some light hop bitterness, needs more hops and higher ABV.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Hazy, pale amber with a creamy, white head. Incredibly lovely nose full of aroma hops. Very light - almost watery - body. Slightly sweetish malt and a short, dry finish with a touch of bitterness. 041105

An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is lovely with notes of Cascade hops and grapefruit. The flavor is malty with quite a lot of grapefruit, leading to a dry end. But the body is thin - no wonder when You check the ABV.

Cask at GBBF 2005 Copper orange colour. Some tea on aroma but nice green hop nose with some nettle. Great bitterness on the end. Good pale ale.

Thanks to Goldtwins for this one. Light amber color with a chunky, slightly off white head. Some malt in the aroma, but not much hops. Thin palate delivers a flavor that is mostly sweet with little detectable hop bitterness or flavor. More Amber Ale than Pale Ale. Not very impressive.
