6oz bottle from batch 021208 2012 vintage "Mint Julep Mead". Pours with a brilliantly clear, strongly golden yellow hue. Still, medium alcohol legs. Aromas are of mint and alcohol, light floral honey nose, really nice fresh and green mint character. Nearly bit of a brown sugar, vanilla nose. Lightly earthy, medium alcohol. Flavors are quite dry. A light nutty character from the honey. Buttery, good floral, toasted bread notes to the honey. Medium mint character up front that is mainly a floral note, that fades to a nutty, nearly malty/caramelized finish. Long duration, baked goods. Medium sweetness, balancing tannin at the finish, viscous (medium) mouthfeel, still. Warming but never hot. Quite a tasty mead.

Sample at the Mead Molehill tasting on 01/10/2011. Pale golden color with a minimal head and nil lacing. Minty aroma with some honey notes. Medium body with flavors of spearmint and oak. The finish is thoroughly minty. Decent overall.
