Aroma: The nose is mostly roasted malts/coffee, with some chocolate and some raspberry
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small, fizzy beige head, and some occasionally spotty lace
Flavor: While the nose leans heavier on the roasted/coffee malts, the chocolate and the raspberry really come though a lot more in the flavor. The coffee is still there, but it moves to the background, as the sweetness comes out. The flavor is fairly sweet, though not cloying, and it actually reminds me quite a bit of those Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Squares, though it isn't quite to that level of sweetness.
Palate: It is fairly light bodied, a hint watery, it is smooth, and has a decent, though slightly weak mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Overall, there were some good things going on here. I mean this one is clearly a 1 (OK, 3) dimensional beer, but those 3 elements (chocolate, raspberry, and coffee) all worked pretty well together. I would have liked a little more substantive body, but overall, the feel is solid. This was a very solid, sweet, "dessert-type" of beer. I enjoyed it more then I expected that I would.

Bottle shared inDrammen. Dark maroon color, small tan head. Aroma of chocolate covered fruit, very nice. Taste is similar, but very light body not bad.

Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours a a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate with some faint raspberry and backing roast and dark grain. Flavor starts with a good amount of chocolate with some raspberry and backing dark grain.

Pours very dark, almost opaque but not quite; just a hint of garnet coming through the edges under strong light. Thin scum of foam for a head that quickly reserves itself to the glass edges. The aroma is like berry scented bath soap. Berry-like, yet artificial in some way. The flavor is a weak chocolate cherry kind of affair. It doesn’t deliver what was hinted at in the aroma.

This beer is a very dark brown color with a medium thin off-white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is berry-forward with a bit of chocolate in the background. Light body with a raspberry character and chocolate malt backbone, as well as a bit of mild coffee. The finish is tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Dark chocolate and raspberry nose, moderate strength. Clear mahogany, medium tan head, good lacing. Thin mouthfeel, too thin for a stout. Heavy on the raspberry with bark underneath and in the finish. While any fruit additions would make this a fruit beer instead of a stout, this would still be a fruit beer as it bears little resemblance to a stout. Was hoping for a greater chocolate presence and more body. I like Duclaw, but not this beer so much.

Draft @ DuClaw, Arundel Mills location. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate raspberry aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and raspberry flavor. Has a roasted malty raspberry finish.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, raspberries (tons of them), coffee and a decent amount of roasted malt. Medium to Full-bodied; Potent strong chocolate and raspberry flavour up front with the coffee notes falling behind. Aftertaste shows for a long while with the bitterness from the malt and coffee taking centre stage. Overall, a nice and potent fruit beer, that probably belongs in the sweet stout category. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 04-July-2011 sampled at home with a friend on 07-July-2011 in Washington.

Draught: Poured a black with a light brown thin head. Aroma was light to none existent. The taste was strong dark chocolate with light hints of fruit. Not as much fruit as I would have thought from the description, but alright brew overall.

22 oz bottle. Poured a dark, brown-ruby color, tan head. Aroma is... kind of weak. The beer may have been a bit too cold, as it warmed some notes started coming out. Flavor was another thing. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, raspberries. This was better than I expected and at 4.6% ABV, I was impressed it was as rich as it was. Good!
