Draught at the brewpub Clear, deep brown body. Smaal, creamy, lightly brown head. Nice looks. Very interesting, complex aroma of caramel, spices, chocolate malts, white wine, port, alcohol and some smoke: so very complex and also well balanced. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet. Bit tartness from (German) hops and some yeastiness in the finish. Warming mouthfeel. Very nice porter.

On tap 29 Jun 07. Dark brown colored. A tiny creamy head. Modest fruity aroma. Lacing. Sweet fruity caramellish flavor. Sweet bitter finish. A bit weak to be a proper porter.

On tap @ the brewpub. Nice, very dark brown body with a creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted malt with a hint of liquorices. Flavor is mild, roasted, sweet, fruity, coffee and a hint of liquorices. A decent porter from an old Norwegian brewpub.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a beige head. Served a bit too cold. Easy to drink. Dry and moderate carbonated (Seems like them have not used too much carbonation in this batch). Cacao with some raisin notes in the palate. Light bitter finish. (17.02.2006)

Medium, quickly subsiding white fine-laced head. Translucent dark red body. Floral hops aroma, with some resin. Taste is not too heavy, with a strong hop kick, very bitter. Dry, malty, hoppy aftertaste with burnt and resin notes. A bit too bitter for this little taste, I think. Not bad, but not their best. (On tap @ OMB.)

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown with a small beige head. Nice lacings. Fruity and hoppy aroma with coffee and chocolate. Flavor is mostly american hops, chocolate and coffee. Medium body and bitter finish. More fruity than their stout. (051123)

Draught at the brewpub. EBC 61, IBU 18. Hops used: Cascade. Too carbonated for my taste, served far too cold. Dark ruby colour. Fruity (plums) aroma, like many English porters. Roast malty flavour, rather dry. Quite bitter finish, both from the roast malts and plenty of Cascade hops.

Ruby-amber color. Some malt aroma, light elderflower. Tastes like a Bitter, with a light roasted malt note and very light elderflower; some aromatic hop. It misses some better body structure, and also this one has a too high carbonation. Caramel as well, in the palate.
