Bottled. A yellow beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, lemon, and straw, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Barley malt and raspberry nose. Clear yellow, thin head. Really weak with a bit of berry at midpalate, more raspberry than blackberry. Rice finish. This is pretty bad. What makes things worse is the gratuitous mention of lambics in the commercial description. What in the world does this beer have in common with lambics?

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Fredericksburg, VA. Pours a clear pale amber color that a very reminiscent of a cider. Medium fizzy white head. Decent head retention and fair lacing. Aroma of wheat notes with some faint berries. The taste is dry berry notes with faint bits of wheat and nutty notes in the finish. Thin bodied. Pretty much like a soda.

on tap-pours a white head and pale yellow color. Aroma is blackberry, musty. Taste is blackberry, musty, grain, some bitter hops bite. Could be a fruited pilsner.

Bottle. Poured golden yellow, little head. Aroma of berries, but as others have said, not much in the way of flavor. Good for a hot day, I guess. Long Trail has WAY better offerings. I would pass this one up. Checkout something else.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose is tons of blackberry, kinda of syrupy, very sweet
Appearance: It pours a crystal clear almost golden, but really more straw-like color
Flavor: The taste is also rather sweet, huge blackberry syrup taste, sugary and sweet
Palate: The body of this one is light, with a syrupy feel, though it does make for quite a refreshing beer
Overall Impression: This stuff is really sweet. It basically tasted like you were drinking a watered down bottle of blackberry syrup with a bit of light beer mixed in. The girlfriend loved it, but she likes super sweet almost beers, so that is no surprise. It was clearly too sweet for my taste buds, but it does have a pretty refreshing feel to it when you are drinking it on a HOT summer day outside like I was.

Looks like a common pale lager. Very strong fresh blueberry pancake nose. Taste is pleasant, slightly malted blueberry, wheats, florals, citrus and light doughs. Rated 8/14/02

Fruit beers, I’ve found, are really hit-or-miss. This one hits the target but it’s nowhere near the bullseye. The blackberry flavor is weak; the beer is light and refreshing. My search for the perfect fruit beer continues...
