This American-style, hop-driven beer starts with a citrus flavor,
followed by two layers of caramel and finishes on a hoppy note. Smooth with a layered malt background; very long, late soft development
of hop character. A hoppier beer but remarkably well balanced.

Draught @ Barcade - St.Marks, Manhattan (5/16/23). Cloudy dark yellow-light amber with a very small frothy off-white head that flops fast, faint piney aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter piney taste with lavender-like floral aroma, thin body, long bitter finish. Classical American IPA with enhanced flavor.

From a bomber. Pours a clear copper with a massive, long-lasting head. Weedy aroma. Flavors of grass and resin. Bitter finish.

Deep amber coloured body with a hint of a brown tint and a two centimetre tall tan head - more of an ESB look than an IPA to me. Aroma of light earthy malt, some subtle hops, yeast, wort and a touch of nuts, not too much exciting at play here. Medium-bodied; Some mild earthy and floral hops thrown in with some subtle malts, a touch of sugar and a little caramel flavour. Aftertaste doesn’t show much either with a little hint of citrus and grapefruit, some more earthy malt and not much hops at all. Overall, a pretty poor IPA, not even a good APA - just a slightly more malty and citric amber ale, if that - not worth searching out. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 16-February-2012 for US$10.99 for a 6 pack, sampled at home in Washington on 23-April-2012.

Bottle. Hazy brown color, smal bright white head. Aroma of pine and caramel. Taste is bitter pine. Could be better balanced, but overall not bad.

Tap at BP Old Towne. Hazy deep amber-tan. Foamy beige/off-white head. Sort of odd. Some apple tones among the caramel and specialty malt richness. Almost a touch of Rye. A little off, but drinkable.

Growler thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a large white head over a slightly hazy orange-golden body. Aroma of fruits, caramel, vanilla, melon and citrus. Also light bazooka bubblegum. Floral and tea like. Flavors of raisins, figs, caramel, some bitterness and tobacco. An IPA? Doesn’t taste like one. Not really that tasty at all. Slightly metallic finish. Medium bubbles. Not super dry. Pretty sweet actually.

Growler from Market Street Wineshop, Uptown, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear strawberry orange color. The head is thin, but sticks around. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel and nutty malt notes. Taste is leafy bitter hops, citrus and caramel. Thin-medium bodied and just a faint bit watery.

Tap at Barcade. Eh, nothing special. Pours a light amber with a medium head. Nose of mild, floral hops. Flavor was kind of earthy, skunky, grassy, with only faint hints of hops on the end. Light carbonation and medium to light in body. A little anticlimactic, if you ask me.

On tap at Barcade. Poured into a shaker. Color is dark amber. Aroma is very present - sweet malt and sweet hop. SWEET. Taste is literally bitter sweet. Fruits, plums, and a grassy hop. Some tea like flavors. All those fruit flavors make it sweet and the hop comes in to give it some bitter edges. Average mouthfeel and a sweet aftertaste. Mediumk bitterness. Impressed me.
