Aroma of roasted malts, sweet malts, chocolate, some coffee. Flavour is roasty and sweet, with a light bitter finish. A bit on the thin side. Nice and easily drinkable Stout.

Bottle. Almost black. Malt, licorice, brown sugar and apple in the aroma. Sweet flavor with licorice and some roasted malt, lingering on in the aftertaste. Thin. Not unpleasant.

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en licht bitter met iets van koffie, chocolade en ietwat rook.

Je suis en pleine adéquation avec mon cher Corkyrory lorsqu'il indique qu'il ne s'agit en rien d'un sweet stout mais d'un sour stout. Une acidité bien présente sans être omni présente existe en effet, ne permettant pas aux arômes de malts torréfiés de s'exprimer comme il se devrait mais sans non plus complètement les étouffer. Il en ressort un stout très porté sur la fraîcheur qui peut être une approche pour les néophytes du style, mais qui ne saurait contenter les puristes. En verre, pas de soucis, un noir total avec une mousse brune de 5 mm. Le nez également est plutôt sympathique, simple mais efficace avec café, chocolat accompagnés d'une touche fruitée. C'est à l'attaque que l'on découvre l'acidité, déstabilisant l'ensemble et couvrant les arômes de café et chocolat. Sur la deuxième bouche, le malt commence péniblement à essayer de prendre l'ascendant. L'arrière bouche, après un premier temps acide voit son ampleur aller crescendo en même temps que l'acidité décroît. Se révèlent alors en bouche des arômes de café, chocolat, simples, mais agréable. Le même phénomène se produit à partir de la troisième bouche pour révéler ces mêmes arômes de café et chocolat, et ce sur une bonne longueur. C'est tout de même dommage de gâcher une ligne aromatique par de l'acidité...

Appearance: Very dark brown, lots of nice tan head. Highly carbonated. Some sediments in bottle.
Aroma: Dark malt, roasted. Some wood.
Taste: Dark malt, lightly roasted. A bit of dark fruit and sweetness. Good!
