Hearty and full-bodied this is a "Big" bier. Brewed in the Reinheitsgebot tradition, our Bock comes by its mahogany hue naturally. You can expect this bier to be complex and smooth with deep chocolate and coffee undertones, complementing the rich bouquet. No matter if you choose to enjoy our bock before, during or after dinner, remember to serve at about 48°F. Because like many good things in life...the warmer the bock is, the sweeter it gets.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of nuts, alcohol, bread, malt, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of GT2. Pours a clear reddish brown with an off-white head. Heavy burned caramel aroma combined with some pumpernickel. Nice malty body, dark fruits, caramel, pumpernickel and a little roast and licorice. No real bitterness. 140212

Bottle @ home, courtesy of Armin. I’ve been wanting to taste this for a while, so thanks again Armin! Dark orange brown appearance with a brown head. Toasty, nutty, brown lager nose. Creamy mouth feel. Pretty hazelnutty, toasty, coffee, light chocolate, brown malty lager flavor. Nutty aftertaste. Does not disappoint- excellent!

Refrigerated bottle obtained through trade with cbfobes poured into a shaker. Pours mahogany with one and a half into beige head. Aroma is dark malt and caramel, medium carbonation, good lacing, and thick body. Taste is dark caramel malt, a hint of cherry, some chocolate, a hint of coffee, and finishes with bitter hops. Complex, but a little rough, not as good at the other spectacular offering from New Glarus.

Poured from 12 oz bottle, enjoyed during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Taste was very unique, notes of dark fruit and a very strong malt. I’d try again, not typically a fan of bock beers but this one was pretty good.

Strong molasses and horehound nose. Clear dark brown, headless. Strong flavor of roasted grains and kibble, medium body. Kiss of sweet grass in the end. Alcohol undetectable. On paper, this was mediochre, but I really enjoyed it. It had a certain je ne sais quoi. Very flavorful without ruining the taste buds or liver.

Bottle thanks to daknole. Pours with a deep, hazy brown body and a small and fading tan head. Sweet, maple, caramel and raisiny aroma. Dark fruits and toffee. Taste is dark fruits, popcorn, caramel, chocolate, and prunes. Creamy mouthfeel light bubbles.

12oz bottle. Thick, dark amber-brown color. Foamy beige head which fades out. Sweet pungent dark malt aromas, some raisin and fig perhaps. The taste is rich but smooth. Lots of chocolate and dark malt flavors, some capturing the darker Brown Ale characteristics. This is a great American Bock beer, which could easily hold it’s own against a quality German example. A great beer, underrated.
