At home, at Epalinges, enjoying it yesterday. In my point of view, it is fair stout, rather sweet for a style with beans and coffee, 27.12.19

Bottle, huge thanks Ryan! Brown-black body, off white head. Roasty notes in the aroma, dark malts, treacle and caramel, fairly straightforward but nice. The taste definitely shows off big tonka, cinnamon-like touches, light roastiness, figs, light mit, soft, lean taste. Quite likable!

Bottle at home. Pours deep brown, nose is roasted, vanilla, tonka, chocolate, taste is sweet, creamy, roasted, liquorice, thin.

Dark reddish. Black. I just get roasted malt on the nose. Flavor. Hazelnut, smoke, pepper, vanilla, coffee is light. Finish. Very bitter

Ce stout aurait mérité d'être boostée à la fois sur les arômes que sur l'alcool (6,5 % ici qui pourrait allègrement être augmenté à 8,5 % voire plus). Tout cela manque de pep's pour une bière cependant agréable et plutôt bien équilibrée autour d'arômes de café, de chocolat (intégration de fèves de tonka dans la recette), de tabac, de poivre accompagnés d'une amertume parée de résineux (IBU de 30). La vanille, également en ajout de la recette est plus discrète et se fait ressentir davantage sur le final. En verre, avec un EBC de 165, nous sommes sur un noir total sans présence de mousse. Le nez est sur le chocolat, le caramel accompagnés d'un tabac bien présent. L'attaque présente une texture très fine et des arômes pas assez intenses sur le chocolat, le caramel et un léger poivre. La deuxième est plus pleine (la prise en bouche restant très moyenne) et monte sur l'amertume avec le café et le tabac qui arrivent en complément. L'arrière bouche est nettement portée sur l'amertume sur des arômes de résineux et caramel/chocolat. Le final, bien que d'une bonne longueur manque de pep's avec du café, du chocolat, un brin de vanille et de tabac. Pas trop mal, mais pas assez punchy.
