Upstream India Pale Ale is a golden amber ale that is full in body with a medium flavored malt profile that is balanced with high bitterness and a refreshingly bold hop flavor and aroma. Upstream India Pale Ale is our highest hopped beer with the bitterness weighing in at 65 IBU’s. The rich malts and increased alcohol content help to balance the bitterness and create a truly extraordinary beer drinking experience.

Tap. Pours clear amber, medium creamy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is nice pine and grapefruit. Flavor follows, light sweet and medium bitter with the same harshness as the apa. Medium body, oily mouthfeel.

Tap @ Upstream. Amber appearance with a white head. Piney, fairly resiny, grapefruit citrusy hoppy aroma. Fairly sappy, resiny, piney hoppy flavor with some grapefruit, orange citrus notes. Pretty good.

Nonic pint draft at the brewpub in Omaha, Nebraska. The pour is a mostly clear copper with a smallish white head. The aroma is dank, resin, cirtus hops along with a nice amount of toasted malt. The taste is hops, particularly the tangerine citrus and resin dankness. The malt is present, though is certainly underneath the hops. It also shows some sweet caramel I hadn’t noticed on the aroma. The palate is medium to light bodied, a touch slick and oily, though this cleans up and dries out fast in the finish. Really fresh tasting, nice one.

Draft at Upstream. Filtered orange-brown. Steady, thin head. Nice dry grapefruit aroma. Pretty solid, soapy hops. Toasty, full of flavor, but sort of has the body and a Pale Ale. Decent.
