A truckload of fresh hops on a midnight run from Washington State to Northern Colorado made it to our kettles just in time. Fresh Hop IPA is a citrus punch of the green stuff: Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade hops straight off the vine. This brazen and deliciously bitter IPA pours deeply golden with the slight haze of a really hoppy beer. The fresh hops poke you right in the nose and the liquid hits your tongue with a sharp blast, finishing light and dry. This is the hop harvest, in a glass, just for you.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a clear copper with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a floral hop and pine. Medoum mouthfeel with a crisp hop and pine with a sweet hop finish. A very good IPA from New Belgium.

Bottle. Pours with a completely clear golden hue with a large and tight, just slightly off-white head. Good retention and very nice lace. Aromas of citrus, canned peaches, herbal and lightly dank, grapefruit rind. Grassy. Light sweet caramel notes. Lots of resin, very sticky. Flavors are a touch husky and grassy, light grainy notes. Medium to light bitterness (overall bitter balance). Hop flavors are shockingly muted (even when compared to the nose). Light floral character. Medium to lively bubbles. A bit of an astringency. Light bodied. A bit of an oily/resiny viscosity. Okay.

Bottle @ home. Clear, dark golden appearance with a big, fluffy, off white head. Potent, fresh, piney, light citrus, mostly organic hoppy aroma. Slightly bready yeasty, piney, organic hoppy, somewhat resiny, sticky flavor. Sticky, a touch citrusy finish. Pretty nice brew.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market Short Pump. Pours a clear amber color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Nice fresh hops in the aroma, floral, citrus and green. The taste is green hops, floral and almost vegetal. Medium-full bodied. Nice.
