Pours fairly well, but things go all to hell right after that. The nose is mainly metallic yeast, with a tiny bit of butter behind it. Tastes yeasty beyond reason, with no follow-up to the flavor other than the seltzer-like finish. Bad, bad, bad. (6/08)

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-tan color, foamy off-white head. Clove, mild sweet malt aroma. Doesn’t really cut is a true Hefeweizen, if you ask me. Still an enjoyable enough session beer. Lemony, some mildly dry wheat tones. Quite zesty, lacks much yeasty depth though. OK.

Draft. An unclear dark golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of malt and wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and wheat combined with strong notes of lemon. Not very German in its expression.

12 oz bottle with the "100 years of Shiner Label" I got during a quick stop in Michigan. Nose is a dirty funky oder much like their Bock I had a few day’s ago... with a small under lying wheat. I gave this one a chance, after having the Bock, I didn’t expect much. It must be the yeast this brewer uses. Because after the light wheat up front; the after taste is just bad. I’m REALLY upset I spent $7.99 on a six pack of this. Pass up and move to the next!! I’m giving a 2.2 because I like wheat ale’s and would hate to rate a 1.7. which is what it deserves!

bottle pours hazy yellow with a tall white head. Aroma is hay and tart lemon. Flavor is strong citrus and coriander very wit like. Not bad, but the flavors are very light and boring.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a small white head that lasts and laces a bit. Aroma has sweet grains, a bit of grass, banana and clove as well. Flavor begins with a sweet hint of banana but becomes more grassy and grainy towards the finish.

12oz bottle pours hazy gold with copper hues and weak loose white head. The aroma is yeasty spice, a touch of acidity, mild graininess and hints of fruity esters. The taste begins with yeasty spice and a dash of acidity followed quickly by light skin colored fruitiness. By midway a touch of graininess is noticed before hints of banana and wheat well up.

Refigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Good carbonation, pours a hazy golden, some lacing, with small head. Taste is nice malty wheat with a little citrus and finishes grainy wheat, not much clove or banana, and a hint of sourness. Ok for an american hefeweizen.
