Tap @ BRUS, Oslo. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Aroma has dark malt, herbs, coffee, chocolate and alcohol. The aroma indicates something unusually and exiting, had to spend some time just swirling and sniffing while looking forward for the first sip. Flavor is much like expected with the malt, chocolate, coffee and warming alcohol but a lot less herbal flavor than expected from aroma. But it has a nice, calm flavor, the sweetness are balancing fine against the alcohol and I actually don’t think much that there is no hops here at all. The spices is not overwhelming and somehow the seems to be some kind of bitterness here as well. This was nice and fun.

Bottle at home. Aroma is loads of spices, nutmeg, clove, herbal, dark malt, plenty of sweet liqourice, cough syrup. Flavour is quite sweet. Body is full, rather sticky. Probably good if you like these kind of sweet spicy/herbal winter beers, but it’s not my kind of beer.

Gosh a fruit! Been a looooong time. This one has hops! Erm ... fail! Clear deep amber beer, decent pale tan head that doesn't hang around. Smooth and fairly light palate, semi dry and with decent fine carbonation. Soft floral ripe fruits with a kind mellow cinnamon thing going on. Repressed herb and a little candied orange peel on the end. Light and semi dry finish. Okay, quite well integrated but lacks something to hang its hat on.

Wow: sweet, herbal, spicy nose and a complex taste of dark honey, licorice, anis and dried apricots.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, chestnut colour with small, frothy, fading, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, caramel and dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, dark caramel, fruity hints of cherry; later a süicy touch of liquorice comes in. Taste is sweet, caramel and dark malty as well as yeasty fruity, notes of malt lozenge, dark caramel, toffee, hints of cherry, plum, Port, morello, a touch of rock sugar, unspecific peppery fruity spiciness - some bitter hop in combination with a fine carbonation lends freshness; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Watery texture, soft palate; the sweetness comes without cloying effect.
