Draft @ Gollem. Pours clear amber, good white head. Smell is aromatically grainy and a bit sweet. Taste is bit bitter, some hops, intense ambermalts and the caramelly characteristics that pair with it. Bit sweet. Very nice !

Draft glass @ (Als ik mijn ogen toe doe ben ik in) Honoloeloe. Deep red amber, solid, tanned / coffee-hued head. Nose is great mix of caramel, biscuit, light sugary malts with USA hops pine resin,… very nice, good balance between the two components. Taste is caramel, faint iron upfront, brown sugar mixed with pine resin, light sweet spices, light cheese hops, pine resin & light grapefruit peel in the finish,… Body could be a bit thicker, a tad more malt but overall I was really amazed by this beer. Not only do you actually get USA hops – too many BE brewers add them now, you just cannot taste here, here we arrive at the second & far more important point, this beer is well thought-out, logical & the combination works really well together. Really surprised here, didn’t expect this coming from De Koninck. Outstanding work. At first I just saw their rebranding as marketing nonsense but this one proved me wrong. I hope that more is to follow.
