Clear, golden colored, medium white head. Aroma is of malt, honey, some adjunct, unclean fruity esters. Taste is medium sweet malt and honey, corn, some fruitiness but not all that pleasant. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. (bottle, Debre Birhan, Ethiopia)

33cl bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports an off white head. The aroma swells with sweet pear and apple candy blended with an odd somehow earthy undefinable “stuff” sort of sensation. Hmm. The taste is similar with a mild meat like odd earthiness blended into sweet apple and pear sweet fruitiness creating a flavor that isn’t all that inviting. It then becomes more cereal like to midway and into the finish and tries in vein to turn this thing around with more “beer” notes but in the end the cereal notes fail to do so.

This one is pretty rough, even on Ethiopian standards. A little too much of that sour mash malt finish on this. The St. George’s was a much better choice next to this. Bottle at Zenebech’s with some excellent food that somehow made it alright.

Bottled. A golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has niotes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and metal, leading to a bitter finish.

Beer starts mild, quite sweet. The mainpart is very smooth, a bit watrey. Slightly malty and a bit grainy. An interesting herbal-like taste comes towards the ending, the bittering hops fit in well. The aftertaste is medium, malty-sweetish and lightly bitter, smooth and watery. Nut not bad – there is a nice, hard to describe malty-herbal tone.
→ Nice brew! Not bad, highly drinkable and interesting. → 12/12/9/11
