A light, refreshing fruit beer fremented with over 500 pounds of real raspberries! At 6.2% ABV it is in the early reaches of the strong biére category! This ruby red, sour mashed and oak aged weiss beer is for everyone. Maybe some oak, cherry and vanilla come through? Try mixing it with our currently offered stout, on tap. It is real, it is right and it works. The freshest framboise on tap in town, no question!

Had at the pub itself. Pours a purple-red colour with not much lace. Beautiful raspberry aromas with some tart. Slightly watery mouthfeel. Taste is pretty much the same as the nose but a little milder with light sourness in the finish. Refreshing on a hot summer day on the patio.

(17 avril 2013)

Draft @ the Brew Pub. 6 oz. snifter shows a really nice reddish purple color. Aroma is heavy tart raspberry and wheat. The flavor starts fairly sweet up front with the berry then transitions into a tart, acidic berry flavor. Lingering tart berry stays with you for a short duration. Overall this batch turned out really nice. Above average raspberry wheat beer here and the women folk really seem to enjoy this!

tap at the brewpub last year - This brew pours deep red and has an ample raspberry aroma. It has a sweet fruity flavor with no noticeable hop bitterness. It’s slightly watery but overall a very solid fruit beer.

On tap at the source. golden with a pink tinge to it and a thin off white head that sticks for a bit. Smells of raspberries mostly. Hints of sour and tart underneath, but this one is mostly raspberries. Taste is lightly tart with again lots of berries and a bit of sweet bready malt underneath. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet yet tart mouthfeel. I only got 3 oz of this and that was plenty. Nice if you like a little beer in your raspberry spritzer.

Vermont Pub: Pours a reddish color without too much head. Aroma is mostly of raspberries. For a raspberry beer, this was pretty good. I was expecting more of Belgian twist, but I didn’t really get that. In any case, it was a kind of nice. Lots of raspberry flavor. It was also kind of sweet. Eh.

Draft the the brewpub. Hazy purple, large bubble edge head. Aroma of raspberry perfume. Taste is not sweet, but also not too sour. OK.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, crisp raspberry - light cherry touch, not sulphorish. Dry raspberry fruity. Light citric and mellow finish.

Tap at the brewpub - they were out of the spuyten duyvil, so I ordered this - "oak aged? sounds good." - wrong - looks and smells like artificial raspberry flavor and sugar - the flavor is thin, tart, and uncomplex, tasting kind of like unsweetened raspberry soda - some slight fruit skin notes come into play, but mostly this uninteresting, bordering on a drain pour.
