A big bitter 77 IBU India Pale Ale, spiced with a blend of fragrant Magnum, Simcoe, and Cascade hops. An American IPA receipe designed by our late Brewmaster, Greg Noonan. He said that he wanted this to represent the American style IPAs being brewed by the creative brewers using todays malt and hop varieties.

Sampled at the brewpub. Golden with an off-white head. The nose is hoppy with grapefruit, pine and grass. Also, some sweetness. The taste is as hoppy with the same notes and a grainy finish, and bitterness lingering. Dry mouthfeel. This is definitely the hoppiest beer here so far.

(17 avril 2013)

Draft @ the Brew Pub. 6 oz. snifter. Citrus hop nose. Thick full head on a bright yellow color. Nice blend of citrus and pine hops, with a decent amount of malt to balance it. After sipping this I think of the classic traditional IPA feel. Does anybody else remember a time before the whole beer world went hop bomb crazy?? This IPA reminds me of the days before crazy Imperial IPA’s. Very effective classic American IPA. Very sessionable, light pine, light citrus, light lingering bitterness.

On tap at the source. Pours a cloudy deep golden color with a smallish off white head that displays moderate retention and lace. Smell is resinous and bitter with bits of citrus and pine. Flavor is a bit harsh in its bitterness but my palette adjusts quickly. Pine resin and citrus flavors with faint bready malt. Medium body and carbonation level with a slick resinous mouthfeel. This is a decent old school style IPA. Nothing objectionable, it just feels like a harpoon IPA after you’ve been drinking nugget nectar all day.

tap at the brewpub - The brew has a good citrus hop aroma. The flavor is of sharp bitterness with a little citrus and okay backing malt. It’s medium bodied with a bitter finish. Some more complexity would be nice. Mostly it’s just bitter. Overall it’s solid though.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear rosy amber w a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma had a combination of intense pine, citrus and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor began with strong pine, but was balanced by a nice citrus note with a hint of a sweet grain backbone.
