Bomber at Imazato. Amber-orange, cloudy. Relatively malty flavor with cherries, pines, earthy hops, a bit of chewy stone fruit. Decent and likeable.

On tap at Fifth Quadrant, pours a clear orange amber with a small white head. Aroma and flavour are rather mellow, with toasted bready caramel malt and just a slight resinous hop note. Fairly bland but drinkable. Okay.

Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. Copper-colored with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, citrus and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottled 0,65l (bought from Portland)
Deep red color, small off-white head. Caramelly, bready aroma. Medium-bodied, soft palate. Front is caramelly, then some toasted, ryeish maltyness. Finish has some hops and alcohol. Decent "Imperial Red" (err... working class red I mean).

I wonder why an amber is classed as IPA. On to the investigation of a bomber from Big Star in Seattle. Pours ruddy amber with a slight beige head. Smells like light roast malt without much hop. Flavor is moderately roasted malt with not much hop. This is not an IPA IMHO. Pretty blah amber IMHO.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with some hints of caramel. Sweetish malty hoppy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.
