Canned on: 10/24/2025. Bijna zwart en een bruine schuimkraag met een weinig retentie. Geur is geroosterd, sticky toffee, rood fruit.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 10/28/2017
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown color with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which trailed off at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla; sweet maple, light earthy to somewhat licorice tones; rounded black coffee tones
Flavor: balances the prior noted aromas to a fair sweet and roasty character; finishes sweet and roasty with a hint of maple
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; pretty smooth along the tongue but also enough coffee roast to prevent any possible cloying factors
Overall: a very nicely done impy stout without being overdone with the maple, well daggum! Of course I'd return to this.

Thin dark tan head over a near black body. Nose is rich, featuring dark chocolate, roasted malt and dark berries. The maple comes out early along with slightly burnt butter, molasses, and dark roasted malts. Dark berries, toffee, dark berries and some citrus hops round out an excellent, rich IS.

Brewery draught 2/2/23. Dark, ebony, maybe some deep burgundy highlights. Dark beige head, moderate retention. Good clarity. Dark chocolate and espresso with light, sticky vanilla and brown sugar. Hint of licorice and some nutty, vinous maple character with more fudge, espresso and cacao on the finish. No alcohol noted. Soft, well-textured with a milk chocolate and fudge like sweetness in concert with vanilla and maple. Kept dry by peppery, fruity roasted notes and espresso character. Bit of breadiness and no booze. This really walks a delicate line between being malty and rich enough and yet not too sugary. Gains more balance and complexity with warming/breathing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, maple, cocoa, licorice. Slick body, maple syrup, dark chocolate, licorice, dry finish, enjoyed this.

12oz can at Bottle Rocket. Black pour with fine beige head. Aroma is maple, light chocolate. Taste also favors the maple, but enough chocolatey roast is behind for a beautiful blend of flavors.
