Ram Restaurant and Brewery at Indianapolis. Draft. Dark brown body with short, tan head. Served too cold for a porter. The aroma (after it warmed) presented notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate and nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter, but finishes dry and moderately bitter, almost tart. Light to medium body and a watery texture. Average carbonation. An enjoyable porter, but nothing to propel it to memorable status.

Draft: Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Nice thick lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. More coffee than the rest. Taste is more of the same... coffee, roasted malt, and cocoa. Hint of bitters in the tail. No suprises here, but better than the run of the mill porter.

The color is dark, almost black, with creamy beige head. Strong coffeish aroma. The mouthfeel is soft, with also some good dark chocolate and just a normal amount of roasted malts and fresh coffee. Correct bitterness.
Very pleasant Porter, fresh.

WBC ’06 winner from the Seattle Ram. Dark brown colour. Light chocolate and rye bread aroma. Mild character still shows some sweet dark chocolates, toast, nuts. It’s a bit tart in the finish, seemingly from the dark malts. Award-winning "Brown Porter" is really structed like a "Robust Porter" but without the hoppiness. Enjoyable.

On Tap at The ram / Boise Very dark brown with a nice tan head and excellent clinging lacing. Lots of dark roast ans charcoal with some cocolate notes. Soft carbonation and the characteristinc slightly thin feel of the style. Smokey bitter aftertaste. Nice offering.

From a sampler at the Indy location: Pours almost black with a medium thick tan head. The nose is fairly strong roasted coffee and malt. A little on the thin side, but very tasty nonetheless. There is a nice concoction of coffee, roasted malt, caramel and malt in there. The finish is lightly bitter and keeps with the chocolate theme too. This is probably the best beer I tried at the Indy RAM, but there are many better Porters out there.
