Ace Pear is made from a base of 100% pure, local apple juice. Pear essence is added to give the cider its distinctive pear taste; a taste so fresh and natural it is already proving as popular as its more traditional apple counterpart.

Picked up a a couple mixed sixer to keep the July 4th White Zin crowd at bay. I remembered having this on tap recently & besides just being candy, I thought it was really refreshing. Poured into an Ommegang flute & paired with some Ibuprofen. Pasty, neon white head. Body that’s just barely tinted gold. Smells like Postobon Spanish apple soda, 50/50 with cream soda. Maybe too perfume-y. Candy. Taste is muted green apple Jolly Rancher & powdered sugar. More Golden Delicious & melon then anything naturally pear-ish. Moderate acidity, but carbonation doesn’t deliver it as well, as it’s much stiffer on tap. The sulfites dry out the finish, but there’s not much to find offensive here. Alcohol remains in check as long as it stays cold. Really fruity, hinting at plastic candy, but not sickening sweet. Ingredients: Fermented apple juice, natural flavors, carbonated water, malic acid, apple concentrate(as a natural sweetener), -HA!, and sulfite(preservative). 155 calories, hmm... maybe I’d be better off sticking to Postobon.

On tap at flying saucer. Has a clear golden with a small white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is a sour apple and tart. The taste is a sour apple with a pear and watermelon. A decent cider from ace.

Very light yellow color, what is expected from pear juice. No head. Aroma is sweet and fruity of pears. Flavor is crisp with sweet and tart, as well as pear. Nice, but a little plain.

Had this, by surprise, on tap at the Harris Grill East End Pgh. Clear and barely any yellow color, just barely pale yellow like clear clean pee. Perfumy sweet fruit aroma, nice but not offensive. Very cool initial taste, not overly sweet. Can’t taste any alky in this, hides it well. Good creamy tingly carbonation. Very enjoyable. I like this stuff. Friendly and goes down way too easy. Finish? What finish? Crap. its gone! Good stuff, gimmie another! Nifty perry, probably liked this so much because it was the first cider or perry I had on tap!

Never tried Perry before. Aroma is of pear, citrus, and apple. No head (as expected), sparkling body which is ever so slightly yellow tinged. Color is similar to a light sauvignon blanc. Flavor wasn’t memorable, kind of dry and fizzy with not much character.

Aroma of apples and pear skins. Light golden color with a thin white head. Flavor is apple and pear. The apple comes first, leaves, and then the pear appears. For an instant it made "Jolly Rancher" come to mind. The finish is apple cider sweet, with some pear skin, and a Granny Smith note.

Aroma is overripe pear. Crystal clear golden color. Initial flavor is salty, but quickly turns to sweet honey. Pear finish. Decent complexity for a perry and very delicious.
