Bottle picked up via trade. Rich, not overly sweet, stewed dark fruits, booze, layered roast and cocoa. Nibbles of oxidation. Some earth, burnt earth. Well rounded.

Tap @ Warpigs. Pours pitch black, oily, with no head. Aroma is heavy oaky, lots of tannins, dark bitter chocolate, subtle roast, vanilla, fudge. Taste is bitter, boozy, chocolate, lots of oak, vanilla, fudge, roast, slick and oily. Pretty damn heavy but nice either way.

Dark mahogany with an almost burgundy tint to it. Good clarity and a small ring of tan bubbles that fizzles away immediately.
Dark fruits, black pepper and light suggestions of hickory smoke portray a lovely English-style RIS. Tar and baker’s chocolate are quite assertive and "dry" out the nose considerably, though the salty-like hickory and molasses add back some depth and fill out the aroma. Tons of vinousness and yet no sharp esters or particular alcohol notes for its size. The port is well-integrated with the beer and it never comes off as heavy port notes on top of beer. But rather, the vinousness, wood and such all blend quite seemlessly with the dark fruits from the dark malt and yeast.
Dry as hell and fruity with raisins, plums, figs, tobacco and so on. Flat, but it doesn’t seem to bother the beer, being so well-attenuated and having a strong texture filled out by barrel tannin and malt. Still shows a chocolatey-caramel character that balances the dry aspects nicely as port tickles the palate on the finish. Very soft all around with no syrupiness whatsoever, which is remarkable given the lack of carbonation. Loved it, but then, this "old" English-style stout is right up my alley.

500 ml bottle, thanks to AdamChandler. Deep black color. Nose is mild rchocolate malts, Portuguese Port, dark fruity notes. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malts with a nice mellow Port wine that lingering for a good amount. The texture is oily with a ,eduim plus body. Maybe a bit oily.

This is absolutely blended to perfection. The amount of time this sat it is not oxidized much. Pretty nice stout.

(On tap @ Warpigs HF Day, Copenhagen, May 12 2016) Pours black with a tiny head pale tan bubbles. Aroma is malty molasses, prunes, red grapes, port, roasted grain, chocolate, light coffee, heavy soy sauce umami, wood, slightly nutty. Flavour is quite sweet but the fruity components almost touch tartness. Dark molasses malt and chocolate, plum, port, dried fruit, umami, woody, slight vanilla. The woody astringency and vinous acidity dries down an otherwise sweet body towards the finish, along with some booze. Full oily body and very low carbonation. Definitely a different stout, takes a moment to wrap the head around but it’s an excellent sipper.

Clear dark black brown color with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, plum, prune, dark dried fruit almost soy sauce. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, dusty, dark malt, plum, dark dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light light alcoholic. [20160512]
