The last of a series, Batch 10,000 Ale looks back to our home-brewing roots. After combing through the catalogs of many, many malt & hop suppliers, our brewers used over 100 different malts, grains, and other fermentables, and followed them up with a blend of 60 different hop varietals between the kettle additions and dry-hopping. The resulting beer presents a deep, chocolate brown hue and offers roasted & caramel notes from the malts mixed with an assertive hop character. Sharply bitter, the beer possesses a full mouthfeel without being heavy and will withstand aging in your cellar, if you prefer.

Dark brown pour, small mocha head. Deep aroma of caramel, bread, chocolate, toasted nuts, and some piney resinous hops. Viscous oily mouthfeel, low carb. Loads of pine in the finish, with a nice kick of caramels. Loads of roast, and bitter cocoa. Nice stufff, a great warmer.

This is a very rich complex beer. Aroma is a bit on the mild side. Flavor’s where it really gets going - plenty of malts, the right hops & yeast to complement. Good drinking beer.

Bottle shared on the train to the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Thanks to for this geriatric beer. Pours mostly clear brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has suggestions of age, semi-dark malts, dried dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with earthy hops, chocolate, toasted toffee, leathery fruits. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with more earthy, leather, bitter burnt grains, berry skins. Some interesting elements here. Not bad overall.
