12 oz. can from Total Wine, Union, NJ. Pours a pitch black color with a small light brown head with decent retention. Almost no lacing. Dark roast and light coffee aroma. The taste follows the nose. Smooth dark chocolate and roasted malts flavor with only a hint of coffee. The lactose keeps everything mellow and sweet. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Not bitter. Very good.

Mix six super market in random PA stop. Dark pour. Nose is light roast and milk chocolate. Tastes of light chocolate, some earth, malt, and milky. Thin bodied. Not sweet which I enjoy. But forgettable brew.

(Tap) clear, bright, very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of molasses, roast; smooth palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish

Bottle from New Beer Distributors, NYC. Pours an attractive opaque black with a good sized tan coloured head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, milk chocolate, lactose, dark fruits and vanilla. Medium plus sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, texture a little thin, with average to soft carbonation. Aside from being that bit watery, its otherwise pretty enjoyable.

Medium brown, nitro head. Has a massive vanilla nose and taste. Not balanced and out of style. Garbage example, nothing but fake vanilla. Not what the style is.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent black color has a minimal tan head that disapates quickly. Aroma has a roasted malt and mocha nuance. Reminiscent of Cocoa Puffs cereal. Flavor follows the nose with a nod toward Oveltine and " Black Coffee In Bed". There is an underlying creamy milk chocolate character here. Easily drinkable and quite tasty. Like a Tootsie Roll in a glass.

Rated from old notes. Very black, minimal head retention. Somewhat light bodied for a stout. Milky aftertaste reflects addition of lactose. Good drink overall.
