Cask at GBBF 2015 - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Rich chocolate nose, mellow roast. Medium sweet flavour, plenty of rounded dark malt character, chocolate, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet on the finish, some dark fruits, further cocoa. Solid.

Bottle. Dark brown with a generous tan head. The aroma is sweet & nutty, some cocoa and a bit of toffee. The flavor is lightly sweet, balanced but not hoppy. Good body

Bottle from Giant. Kind of flat pour, dull and lifeless. Aroma is sweet, molasses, minor hint s of roast grains. taste carries forward with the sweetness, with some earthy, dirty flavors, recalling a scotch ale. Definite peat flavors, root beer. Where is the porter? Not getting what they were trying for....

Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Dark brown in colour, with reddish undertones and a decent, beige, head. Multi-layered malts character with chocolate, toastiness and a touch of porridge oats, before some fruity sweetness and a lingering, dry, finish with a touch of leafy hop. Excellent.
