A complex, robust porter, Bad Moon is medium to full bodied with a slightly sweet, malty presence combined with hints of chocolate and coffee. This is a full-bodied beer that gets its chocolate and coffee-like flavors and color from the use of generous amounts of roasted malts. It has a smooth finish and a balanced hop character.

on tap-pours a dissipation tan head that laces and black color with red tint. Aroma is roasty, dark malt-chocolate/licorice, some cocoa powder/acidic. Taste is roasty, dark malt-chocolate/licorice, some cocoa powder/acidic/bitterness from hops. Medium/full body. Plenty of carbonation.

Draft at the Bowie location. A pitch black beer with a slitght brown shine penetrating it under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted bitter end - with notes of bitter desert chocolate.

Poured extremely opaque black from my growler. Very little head, but again, it came from the growler. Roasted malt aroma with little or no hoopy smell. Initial flavor is lighter than the color might indicate with brown sugar, roasted malt and toffee flavors. The finish is only lightly smokey with coffee flavors. Warm, sweet, and crisp on the palate. Awesome beer, a must have from a solid brewer.
