Howl For It! Named for the Sawtooth Wolf Pack of Yellowstone National Park, Sawtooth Belgian White Ale is an untamed mix of wheat, oat, barley malts and spices. This traditional, 4.8% abv Wit is left unfiltered to capture the unique flavors of the yeast used in fermentation, and give the beer its wild, cloudy, golden appearance. Real Curacao bitter orange peel and crushed coriander imbue the aroma, taste and satisfying finish of this crisp, effervescent brew with its legendary, bone chilling refreshment and bite. Have a taste, and you’ll howl for more.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen. Pour slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is grainy, medium/light body, medium/lower carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is grainy, coriander, and some orange peel. Not a better wit.

12 ounce bottle from Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg, VA. Good thing I had a glass handy as this was a gusher. Hazy orange with a large foamy white head that quickly fades. Aroma of tart wheat notes, citrus, spice and a toasty finish. The taste is wheat, strong citrus, some plum, strong spice, faint herbal hops. Medium bodied. Decent.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a large white head, some nice cloudy glow of honey and a trillion bubbles rising from the bottom - nice. Aroma of strong coriander seed, hay, grass, curacao, lemons and yeast - very nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast character with a lot of spices, some coriander seed and a touch of bananas noticeable on the end. Aftertaste shows some good dry flavours, but the yeast and spices really take over, in a good way. Overall, a nice and very well crafted wit - nice to sample and definitely worthwhile to drink if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Lebanese Taverna Market in Arlington, Virginia on 02-October-2011 for US$2.09 sampled at home in Washington on 08-November-2011.

Location: Draft at the Fells Point Brew Pub, 9/6/09
Aroma: The nose on this one is fairly spice and wheaty
Appearance: It pours a clear golden looking color
Flavor: Spice and wheat malts with some light earthy hops
Palate: This one has a smooth mouthfeel and light-medium body
Overall Impression: This is a decent White, though not an overly exciting beer. I have to admit, it isn't one of my favorite style, so I might not be the best one to judge off of, but I did like it somewhat.

[Draft at the Bowie location] A hazy light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet citrusy and wheaty. The flavor is sweet wheaty with lots of lemon - but I can’t find the coriander, so I don’t find it to style - and I find the lemon note to be too strong for me personally.
