Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

12/11/12/11/11/11

Bottle as an extra from McGrupp612 - thanks! Pours clear amber with a medium off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and a bit of peach. Flavor is much the same, a bit of sweetness and a light grassy bitter finish. Body is light to medium.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed after a humid run at home in Chicago while my lady is stuck in NYC. Appearance a pretty, clearish gold with a thin white head with fantastic lacing around the glass. Aroma of orange peel, grassy hops, a very small touch of sweetness, smells dry hopped and fantastic. Taste of grapefruit, bit of citrus, definitely balanced with equal part bready malts, very nice and crisp. This is a fantastic pale ale!

On tap at the Blind Tiger, Manhattan, NY on 25 July 2011. Gold with off white lacing film head. Weakish yeastiness in aroma. In mouth flavours: cheese, lacticity, citrus, metal. A citric aftertaste and a little sweetness with it. Light mouthfeel texture.

Bottle. Amber body with a froth, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Malty aroma of toasted grain with hints of orange and resin. The flavor is lightly to mdoerately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Taste of orange and orange peel. This is an interesting APA because it is different: Hop bitterness yet balanced well with sweet orange juice. I especially liked this flavor.
