An English style robust Porter with huge malt notes from Chocolate and Black malt matched with a huge use of Crystal malt to lend ruby hues to the corners of the glass. This dark brew is then highly hopped with imported Northdown and First Gold hops to lend a subtle earthiness in character.

Sample at the Downtown location. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of coffee and malt. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate and malt. The finish is malty up front with a coffee and hops aftertaste that lingers awhile. Decent overall.

Location: Draft Postal Building Location - From the sampler glass 3/7/09.
Aroma: Chocolate, Chocolate, and more Chocolate
Appearance: Dark brown/black, thin dark white head
Flavor: The chocolate dominates this well balanced porter, slight underlying earthy tones
Palate: Smooth, drinkable, medium body
Overall Impression: Pretty enjoyable beer. I enjoyed the balance of the sweetness (coco and coffee) with the porter hops.

Tasted more like a stout, smoky coffee and chocolate flavored, very full body, almost black in color, somewhat bitter finish. Fair.

Murky brown porter with a thin lacing light moka head. A nutty chocolate aroma with light herbal notes. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with light hopping and sustained coffee. Medium bodied. Tasted at Downtown location, April 14 2008.

Capitol Hill location. Liked this one. Dark brown, with roasted flavor. Great for the weather this time of year. Nice coffee and chocolate flavors, and a good finish.
