Draft: Poured a golden to copper color with an off white head. Aroma is light hops. Nice soft hops taste that seemed thin, but refreshing on the hot Florida day.

Poured up on tap at the BJ’s in Palmdale, CA where I see a clear gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The modest aroma has citrus like clementine going on as well as a more tart grapefruit citrus sensation. The taste is the same with timid citrus hop bitterness from a grapefruit note to a decent level of malt sweetened clementine and grapefruit. This is a nice easy going IPA.

On tap @ BJ’s Montebello, CA. Golden blond color, hazy. Sticky white head, good lacing. Aroma’s: hop, citrus, a bit earthy. Retronasal it’s very strong hops, acidic, flowery, a bit earthy. Flavor is bitter, but not harsh, with a hint of malty sweetness. Medium bodied. Long finish, bitterness remains. Nice!

Draft @ The Falls location that recently opened. Pours slightly hazy orangish golden color with white head. Aromas of grapefruit rind and some lemon. Citrus flavor with some sweetness. Medium body with average carbonation. Better than I was expecting.

Tap. Pours clear deep amber with a small off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is so faint as to be almost undetectable. Flavor brings out some pine and caramel notes, along with light sweetness. Quite bitter from start to finish, leading me to think it was an old pour; no aroma to go with the bitterness. Again, a lightly metallic aftertaste.

On tap at New Braunfels location. Pours a clear copper with medium frothy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is pine and floral hops. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet pine hop and grapefruit with light bitter finish. Easy to drink a good IPA from BJs.

Light copper pour - fairly sweet throughout, but at least it is a clean sweetness of lightly caramelized sugars that does not interfere with the hop character, which is the star of the show here - hops are lightly earthy, with fairly strong notes of pine and bright citric character that linger long into the finish - a bit sweet for me, but a solid IPA.

Hazy golden orange coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of strong hops, some caramel and a good malt balance with a bit of citrus tucked in. Medium-bodied; Potent hoppy flavour with some good citrus and almost wheatie characteristics, but a nice malt backbone and some good grapefruit and slightly piney hop character shows well. Overall, a nice IPA for a brewpub and slightly better than you might have expected. However, it isn’t sublime and incredible. I sampled this pint on draught at the BJs in Tustin, California with haddon90 on 27-August-2011.
