Blumig süßer Hopfenantrunk, was sich im Mittelteil noch deutlich steigert. Zu süß, fruchtig und minimal alkoholisch. Wenig herb, unrund. 11/9/7/9/9/8

Bottle from NWAF, Derby. Drank at home. Honey coloured pour with a white head. Peach, pineapple and apricot aroma. Quite a dry number. Flavours of yellow melon, peach. Rich, boozy flavour. Pleasant alcohol burn. Dry, fruit laden finish. Damned tasty!

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark copper colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Citrusy, fruity hop aroma with a mineral touch, hints of blood orange, grapefruit, mandarine. Taste is almost more sourish than bitter hoppy, fruity hints of blood orange, grapefruit, mandarine, kumquat, caramel malty basis with some biscuit; slightly too lively carbonation that is somehow typical for Dutch IPAs. Not sooo bad.

Bottled, dated 02/09/13, large sample. Almost clear amber color, short lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma is quite hoppy of citrus, grapefruit, pine, hint of lychee, hint of biscuity malt. Quite thick body. Medium bitter in taste, quite fruity bitterness. It has some biscuity sweetness, but that feeling is increased by the citrussy bitterness from the hops. Bit sticky finish though, showing some residual sugars. I quite like it, but that’s not surprising considering the citra, simcoe and cascade. :-)

Quite unbalanced DIPA.

A hazed reddish dipa with a thin off white head. In aroma, smooth floral hops over biscuit malt, resinous hops with light tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, rather smooth exemple of the style with floral resinous hops , biscuit malt, citrus pulp, alcohol warmth, smooth and delectable. On tap at La Fine Mousse in Paris.

Bottle from Bacchanalia in Cambridge. Poured a cloudy amber colour with a thin white head. Yeasty aroma with notes of orange peal and cloves. Initial flavour was very bitter fruit rind with sharp sharp acidic notes and a little candy sugar. Finish was bready malt, hop resin and brown sugar. Not sure if this bottle was quite up to par, as this wasn’t at the usual high standard for De Molen.

Bottle from Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Label states 8.0%. Hazy, deep amber. Thin, off white head. Tinned peach, caramel, sweet malt, antiseptic. Taste is syrup sweet. Then grapefruit, with a dollop of sugar on top, as per a breakfast 30 years ago. Heavy, sweet, oily palate. Dry, bitterness, pops up eventually, but a bit too late for me.
