Hartverwarmend winterbier.

Bottled. A deep golden, clear, full-bodied beer with a beige head. Spices, malt, caramel and sugar in the aroma. Sugar, some spicyness, malt and dried fruits in the flavor. The finish is sweet, with some spicyness as well. A quite nice one, like a spiced-up wheat bock. (061222)

Bottle, 7.5%. Quite yeasty and very peppery aroma. Slightly hazy brown colour, small head. The flavour is quite peppery with some warming and burning alcohol. Seems to have some spices in the finish, aniseed. A bit sweet, but still dominated by the alcohol.

A hazy orange beer with quite a lot of sediment floating around underneath a white head. The bottle has aged a couple of years, but was within the best before date. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and fruit, and so is the flavor, here peaches stand out amongst the fruits, and mixes in with a light spicy note. The mouthfeel is quite thick.

Rerate: Clear amber color, short head, some debris. Aroma of caramel, quite spicy, cardamom, clove. Body is a bit too thin for the amounts of spices for my liking. Quite sparkling on the tongue, spicy. Slight dry finish. Original, 2005: Cloudy brown color, small head. Aroma of alcohol, some faint black chocolate malt, bit skunky hops i guess. Taste is also very heavy, earthy, sharp alcohol. 1.4 --- Beer aliased from original tick of Winterbier on 04 Dec 2012 at 20:58 - Score: 6
