Draft at Schumacher, May 2013. Brown color again and the same thick, lacing head. Rich malt flavor, and a somewhat oily finish. Good palate. Dryer than Kurzer, and it doesn’t have as much nut character as some of the others.

Tap at Schumacher in Goldenen Kessel, Dusseldorf, 28/04/13. Clear chestnut brown with a decent beige head. Nose is dark malt, toffee, brown sugars, light fart. Taste comprises demerara sugars, lightly soured dark fruit notes, dark toffee fudge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish finish. Decent enough alt.

1L bottle @ Kahdet Kasvot. Rated on 15.04.2011
Aroma has grassy hops, some grainy malt and some nuts. Flavour has bready malt, some grassy notes, nuts and toffee. Refreshing but still rich, I like the hops here.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle picked up near Dusseldorf in market. Pour reflects the style, medium, clear amber, nice robust head. Aroma is roasty and nutty, with some very fruity notes thrown in as well. Taste is nutty and sweet, mild savory notes, more fruity flavors. Nice weight and feel, dry finish. Classic altbier! F: -medium carbonation -light to medium body O: Just a flawless Altbier, lagging a bit behind Uerige's complexity.

Amber colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, malts and candy. Malty flavour, caramel, light bitter. Bitter finish, with (surprise!) malts.
Quite unexciting but well-made beer.

Thx. to Benzai / Rene // swintop bottle sampled @ RBBSG 2012 // clearish amber with a white head // smells of aged caramel, tad bitter grains, grass, yeast, aged candy // bit thinned out with aged age taste, light caramel, spices, yeast, light herbs and mellow malts // tad thinned out body // so/so
