De eerste Collaboration Brew is gebrouwen in samenwerking met Kees Bubberman van Brouwerij Kees in Middelburg. Met Kees hebben we een Imperial Pilsener gebrouwen: blond en ondergistend zoals pils, maar dan met net even wat meer hop, meer alcohol en meer smaak. De Nieuw-Zeelandse hop geeft dit bier zijn unieke karakter.
Kees Bubberman was al jarenlang bevriend met een hobby-bierbrouwer terwijl hij werd opgeleid als horecakok. Hij zag een unieke kans en opende in 2015 Brouwerij Kees in zijn thuisstad Middelburg. Toegankelijk smakende bieren, maar wel met een twist, iets aparts, dat is waar zijn brouwerij om draait. Tientallen vooral op Britse en Amerikaanse leest geschoeide en gedurfde IPA’s, zware porters, coffee stouts, winterbieren en saisons verlieten de brouwerij.

Aroma of malt, bread, grains, fruits, hint of floral, hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate to medium bitter finish. Slightly boozy. Pretty good Imperial Pilsener.

Bottle. Slighly hazy yellowish golden colour with a longlasting foamy small white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, some mild green apple skins as well as some alcohol. Flavour is green apple skins, mild grains, some sweet fruits and mild alcohol too. Good ESL. Or even Malt Liquor.

Bottle. Blonde. Malt and peach in the aroma. Malty sweetish, soft grassy hopbitter flavor with peach and mango. Grassy bitter finish. Pleasant.

Interesting. Looks like a pilsner, tastes like one at first but hoppier than most. Then some malty body kicks in making it heavier. Not bad. Bittersweet with big body. Definitely something special, but not sure if it's maybe a bit too dense. It's a bit confusing.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W. van Schaik, Vianen. Hazy golden with a big white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Medium bittersweet taste. An imperial pilsner that isn’t horrible, I didn’t know, until now, it existed.

Bottle at home. Golden beer with a small head. Aroma is malt grain hops. Taste is the same somewhat sweet. Not bad but not awesome.

(Draught at Jopenkerk, Haarlem, 27 Aug 2015) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, cereal, grass and hay. Malty, fruity taste with bread, dried pineapple, grass and a balanced grassy bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made, possibly a touch too sweet. Quite nice.
