De eerste Collaboration Brew is gebrouwen in samenwerking met Kees Bubberman van Brouwerij Kees in Middelburg. Met Kees hebben we een Imperial Pilsener gebrouwen: blond en ondergistend zoals pils, maar dan met net even wat meer hop, meer alcohol en meer smaak. De Nieuw-Zeelandse hop geeft dit bier zijn unieke karakter.
Kees Bubberman was al jarenlang bevriend met een hobby-bierbrouwer terwijl hij werd opgeleid als horecakok. Hij zag een unieke kans en opende in 2015 Brouwerij Kees in zijn thuisstad Middelburg. Toegankelijk smakende bieren, maar wel met een twist, iets aparts, dat is waar zijn brouwerij om draait. Tientallen vooral op Britse en Amerikaanse leest geschoeide en gedurfde IPA’s, zware porters, coffee stouts, winterbieren en saisons verlieten de brouwerij.

On tap @ Arendsnest, sample size. Hazy, straw blonde color. Dense white head with reasonable retention. Aroma’s: malty sweetness, grains, like a pils actually. Retronasal it’s grains, fruit, malty sweet. Flavor is moderate sweet, grainish, light fruit. Medium bodied. Not much going on in the finish. Not my favorite style, but OK enough. First time an imperial pils is actually reminiscent of a pilsener beer.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, fruits, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Draught @ Taphouse, Copenhagen. Pours hazy light amber with small white head. Clear aroma of malt and hops, with notes of citrus. Sweetish, malty and estery flavour with notes of hops and faint fruity and citric touches. Sweet- sourish aftertaste. Not bad!

Fast klare goldene Farbe mit einer geringen weißen schaumkrone. Geruch leicht säuerlich fruchtig, sehr hopfig. Geschmack süß malzig, Getreide, sehr hopfig.

Tap at Leuven innovation festival. Clear light golden with white head. Clean sweet malts up front with some nuts and sugar, light herbal touch with some herbs de Provence. Clean feel here, it’s mostly sweet malts with some hops. Medium bodied.
