With roasted and smoked malts, this robust beer is ideal for long evenings. Yet there are also aromatic hops in the beer and notes of wood. Delicious with the stew.

Bottle, as Houtgerijpte Rook Dubbelbock. Dark brown color. malt and smoked bacon in the aroma. Malty roasty smoky flavor with hints of oak and grapes. Very pleasant, well balanced bock, but I doubt if the wood aging was more than a few days..

Bottle at tasting with buddies Gurthnar, Cuso and Wendigo. F: big, tan, average retention. C: coppery, hazy. A: sweet malty, smoked tones, mellow fruity, caramel, toffee, almost bit vinous. T: mellow fruity, solid malty base, smoked tones, bit vinous, cherries, more dry on the palate than I expected from aroma, very nice, enjoyed.

Bottle from Mallorn. Malty aroma, smoked notes, caramel, light candy notes. Tastes the same as aroma, light sweet, medium bitter. Medium to full body, malty smoked bitter finish. Good.

Thanks to Mallorn for the EU Local Swap 1/2018
33cl bottle
Brown color, light beige head with good retention. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, light caramel, some smoked jam. Favro is slightly bittery, toasty but with a high presence of smoked meat. Light bitterness in the final.

Tap. Hazy amber color with tan head. Aroma is ham, caramel, nice smoked flavour. Taste is caramel, fudge, ham smoke, Weyermann-like smoked malts, umami. Fatty oily mouthfeel with low to medium carbonation. Very good.
