(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with crisp-bread, dried fruit, caramel, orange peel and herbal hops. Malty taste with notes of crisp-bread, dried fruit, prunes, caramel, nuts, brown sugar and a balanced herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, dry. Tasty, clean and well balanced altbier. Quite nice.

Clear amber, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of hard caramel, brioche, plum, red apple, iron, vague tobacco leaves. Taste has sweetish plum & apple, soft caramelly maltiness, bit nutty & herbal. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering soft notes of toast & caramel. Light to medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Nice to find another example of the style.

Blue bottle, copper color, big frothy head. Cake dough aroma. Slight hopbitter flavor with raisin and cake dough. Rather bland, but not too bad. Cannot be compared to the great Düsseldorf altbeers. Brewery tap: Hopbitter, fruity flavor. I can only smell some orange. Light hopbitter finish. Delicate, but not comparable in quality to the more assertive Düsseldorf alts.
