Tap at Arendsnest. Black with beige head. Smoke, ash, bready, red wine. Very dry ashy feel, medium bitter towards the finish. Medium bodied with light feel. Don’t get much barley wine here, but nice stuff.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared by Erwin Van Moll. Hazy dark red to red-brown color, medium sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, slightly sweet and medium to heavy smoke and smoked bacon. Taste malts, light to moderately smoke, sweet, bacon, slightly iron in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Well, I think this is quite well done, but I really don’t like this. Not my thing.
