Bottled on 14-1-2015. Lots of smoke and spice, some alcohol flavor. Chili adds a nice kick, hot in the mouth. Very rich. Mexican Christmas!

Bottle - Lovely sweet smoke aroma and some deep toffee notes. Cloudy copper red with a small beige head. Sweet, smokey and a nice peaty almost manure note. Finish has more caramel coming through. I love it.

Tasting at Matt’s; bottled 14-01-2015
Dark amber color with sparse head. The aroma is sugary, malty, smoked, and lightly sour. Moderately sweet, but with a mild sour note; nice malt flavor, with a earthy soul, and quite strong smoke; the relatively strong bitterness and alcohol warmth are a good complement. It has a strong nutty character.
A bit strange, but very good in its way.

330mL bottle, pours an opaque murky dark orangey amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out smoke, sea salt, caramel malt and dark fruits -- pretty dry, smoky and spicy. Flavour is very strange, with a blend of smokiness, bready caramel malt, and salt. What a weird concoction. It works, but it's not exactly elegant. Good experiment.

Bottle shared with markoijelena at Majstor za Pivo in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours a dark amber hazy color, practically no head. Nose: smiked meat, speck ham, black pepper. Mouth: frizzy-gassy start, chili feel in the throat, rich sweet maltiness, lovely richness but a bit too heavy.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - a stunning cherry red. Perfect neat head. Nose - smoked ham mostly. Very reminiscent of Schlenkerla. Taste - red fruits intermingled with smoked ham. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy smoky texture and a long dry smoky finish. Overall - the smoke is very prevalent but somehow the sweetness and alcohol redresses the balance. Very good.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy red-brown with a thin white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, spice. Taste is sweet and boozy. Spice and booze and malt finish. Chewy, gnarly.
