@ ACBF 2015. Dark red/brown colour. Medium carbonation. Very smoky with notes of bacon. Burning chili aftertaste. Ok, but not easy drinkable.

caramel bruin met schuimige fijne licht kaki kraag. Aroma van rookmout, nat/weeĂŻg hout, ben er niet helemaal weg van. Rare smaken van peper/chili, zacht/glad en romig, ham... ja echt ham... maar er zit ook een zuur in het bier... de chili is aardig over de rest ben ik wat minder te spreken... weird..

Draft sample @ ACBF 2015. De couleur acajou, pas de col, doré au verre. Arôme est centré pleinement sur un malt fumé et qui oscille vers un léger tourbé. Retrouve le caractère un peu à la Bamberg. Malt cara et une pointe de choco en rétro. Palais est épais, un peu surfait avec ses 11%. Retrouve aussi cette signature levure de DM, le tout est épais noyé dans le malt fumé ce qui n’est pas dérangeant. Une version un peu -over the top- et qui aurait certainement profité d’être revue à celle de ses consœurs allemandes de Bamberg, vers les 5%.

From bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked, meaty and roasted. Minerals. Roasted and herbal. Dry and bitter. Herbal and roasted dry malty finish.

Prune color, crimson red. pours with no head. Smells like smoke and ham. Taste is actually really interesting. Yes, there’s a ton of bacon and ham for taste and it’s peaty as all Hell very intense. booze throughout and it just lingers. very intense. Not much else going on but despite the ABV and flavor, it’s surprisingly drinkable but only in small portions.

Clear red brown to purple beer, small beige head, irregular, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: smoky touch, sweet malts, caramel. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: very smoky, caramel, bit funky, weird, alcohol. Aftertaste: very smoky, caramel, alcohol, peated, bit medicinal.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma of smoked peppers, smoke, quite sweet, nuts, brown malts, light fruity. Flavour is sweet, malty, smoke, some peat, smoked peppers, sweet nuts, light roast, light floral hops, some dark fruits, medium bitter finish with some mild chili burn. Medium to full bodied. Nice, but not €5 nice.
